Conferência de 2026 da "Global Business and Human Rights Scholars Association" em conjunto com a "Teaching Business and Human Rights Forum"

Pt/br: Nos dias 21 e 22 de maio, a Clínica promoveu, nas imediações da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná ("PUCPR"), o culminar de meses de organização e planejamento: a edição de 2026 da Conferência internacional da Global Business and Human Rights Scholars Association ("GBHRSA") & Teaching Business and Human Rights Forum ("Teaching BHR").

O evento contou com mais de 50 participantes estrangeiros, e um total de 67 pessoas envolvidas dentre ouvintes, palestrantes e voluntários da organização. Nesta edição da Conferência, também foi possível oportunizar auxílio financeiro para diversos dos convidados, com foco em pesquisadores do sul global em geral, e da américa latina em específico, com o objetivo de enriquecer o evento com vozes por vezes desprivilegiadas.

Além de diversas palestras e workshops sobre a situação atual da temática de Direitos Humanos e Empresas, e do futuro das associações - a GBHRSA e o Teaching BHR - foram apresentados 39 artigos ainda em elaboração, para que os professores, doutorandos e pesquisadores da área possam pudessem receber contribuições dos demais especialistas ao largo do globo.

A conferência também marcou o aniversário de 10 anos da GBHRSA e de 15 anos da Teaching BHR Forum. A oportunidade serviu para salientar os avanços conquistados nos últimos anos, reaproximar colegas de área de pesquisa, e oportunizar novos contatos - tudo na esperança de colaboração no avanço da efetividade da proteção dos direitos humanos no globo.

Desta maneira, o evento foi um sucesso não só por ter sido uma oportunidade de reunião e troca de ideias entre pesqusiadores renomados de todo o globo, mas também por contribuir à posição do Brasil e da América Latina na discussão de temas de relevância internacional.

O trabalho e empenho investidos na Conferência de 2026 da GBHRSA e do Teaching BHR Forum certamente terão frutos valiosos no futuro - com certeza para os pesquisadores e para a área de Direitos Humanos e Empresas, mas com alguma sorte também para pessoas mundo afora, e a proteção de suas dignidades.

O evento não teria sido possível sem o auxílio e organização realizados pelos membros da Clínica de Direitos Humanos - PPGD/PUCPR, mas também foram essenciais o apoio do governo brasileiro - por intermédio do Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento (CNPQ) -, e do instituto Konrad Adenauer (KAS). Sem o apoio destas instituições, o evento não teria contado com tanta riqueza em pessoas e perspectivas.

Eng: on the 21 and 22 of May, the Clinic promoted, at the gorunds of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (Brazil), the culmination of months of organization and planning: the 2026 edition of the Global Business and Human Rights Scholars Association ("GBHRSA") & Teaching Business and Human Rights Forum ("Teaching BHR") International Conference.

The event featured over 50 international participants, totaling 67 different people among attendess, speakers and staff. On this Conference's edition, it was also possible do provide financial support to several guests, focusing on researchers from the global south in general, and from Latin America in specific, with the goal of enhancing the event with oftentimes underprivileged voices.

Beyond several seminars and workshops about the current situation of the topic of Business and Human Rights, and the associations' future - both GBHRSA and the Theaching BHR Forum -, over 39 papers still in in development were also presented, so that professor, PhD candidates and researchers could receive valuable contributions and feedback from other specialists from around the globe.

The conference also marked the 10 years anniversary of the GBHRSA and the 15 years anniversary of the Teaching BHR Forum. The event served as an opportunity to emphasize the last few years achievements', recconect colleagues of the research field, and make new contacts possible - all under the perspective of contributing to the advancement of the effective protection of human rights around the globe.

As such, the event was a success not only for allowing a reunion and exchange of ideas between renowed researchers from around the world, but also by bringing Brazil and Latin America to the forefront of discussions on matters of international importance.

The work and effort invested into the 2026 GBHRSA & Teaching BHR Forum Conference certainly will bear valuable fruit in the future for the scholars and the field of Business and Human Rights, but with some luck also to people worlwide, and the protection of their dignities.

The event would not have been possible without the help and organization provided by the members of the Human Rights Clinic of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, but also not without the essential support of the Brazilian government - through the "National Council on Research and Development (on the original portuguese, "Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento", CNPQ) -, and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS). Without both of these institutions' support, the event would not have accounted for such wealth in peoples and perspectives.
